So I have a custom built gaming PC and have run into issues as a result of a particular driver apparently not being installed. The culprit apparently is the 'PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller' according to Device Manager. I have tried finding downloads for this driver and have used the preset 'Update driver software' function but it only returns errors. Below is an image of how Device Manager is showing the driver as not being installed: Basic System Information: OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.10240 Build 10240 Other OS Description Not Available OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name DESKTOP-AEGEE74 System Manufacturer MSI System Model MS-7984 System Type x64-based PC System SKU Default string Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 3504 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. Hello, Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I can imagine the inconvenience you have experienced. I will definitely help you with this.
A conflict may show next to the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller in the Device Manager for the Latitude E5x50 portable systems. Affected system models include the Latitude E5250/5250, E5450/5450, and the E5550/5550. To resolve the issue, download and install the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver. This driver file can be located under the Chipset section of the specific system's drivers and downloads from the Manufacturer Support Website.
The issue you are facing with Windows update, I suggest you to try the below steps and check. Method 1: Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter Try to run the Windows update troubleshooter, it will detect and resolve the most common issues with the Windows updates.
To do so, follow the link below. You may also follow some other common solutions on the same articles. Troubleshoot problems with installing updates Method 2: If doesn't work, I would suggest you to manually reset Windows Update components and check if it works. Buku ekonomi politik pdf. Refer to Manually reset Windows Update components from the link below: Note: Also works on Windows 10. Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with Windows.
We are glad to assist you. Thank you for your reply, My system is not (as far as I am aware) any of the models which you have suggested; I also have been unable to find a specific download link on Intel or MSI's website for the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver other than this: However as you will note the compatible systems are all Latitute/Dell ones (A number of which are also tablets) and as such I assumed that downloading and installing this would not solve the problem? I also found this link, however I am not sure whether it is what I am looking for, especially given that it does not state that it is Windows 10 compatible. Are either of them what I am looking for? I pasted system information in the original post above -my mobo specs are in the image below: Also with regards to Windows Update, I already tried the troubleshooting options that you mentioned and even though they claimed in their end reports to have 'fixed' several errors with the updater this did not actually cause Windows Update to properly download and install the missing driver -instead it just did the same 'Install now' - freeze/hang window and not actually update. If you have a specific link that contains the exact driver I need for my system that would be great!
Any other ways of resolving this problem would be highly appreciated. I have tried running the drivers that I manually downloaded in compatibility mode for other versions of Windows, as expected this did not help as I am running Windows 10 and the drivers were downloaded for that version OS. I have been trying to use the disc that came with my motherboard for driver installation, the software runs and shows that I have Intel Serial IO Drivers and Intel ME Drivers not installed on my system. When I then proceed to click install and allow the software to try and get the drivers the program seems to run just fine and go and install them. It even prompts me at the end of the installation sayings that the drivers are installed and that I should restart my system.
After I reboot and go to check in device manager the same driver still is missing, in addition when I run the driver software setup it shows the drivers as being 'Not installed' despite the fact that I literally just ran the installation and that it apparently worked according to the software. Before clicking install on the drivers: During Installation: 'Finished' Installation: After Reboot: Once again if there are any links that are available for this specific driver I would appreciate it, just so that I can verify that the alternate manual installations I have been trying are using the correct drivers.
I am unsure what to do now given that I have tried all that you have kindly suggested in addition to also using the physical disc that came with my motherboard and yet none have seemed to fix the problem!
OK, for anyone else who did a clean install of Win 10 and wants to clear this up here is what I discovered. First, drivers for everything except for the SM Bus Controller can be found within the chipset files on the Dell support site.
They don't show up under Win 10 however. You have to select 8.1 as the OS to get those chipset files to appear. Or, you can just get them from the 64 bit download list I made here: To avoid any potential issues with code compiled specifically for Win 8.l, I just extracted the drivers and let the device manager find/install them. For the SM Bus Controller, you will need to go to Intel's website and download their chipset setup software. I didn't extract anything from this. Just ran it and let it pick/install the right files. Everything seems good and no more unknown devices with missing drivers.
I had a serious problem with the partition table of my laptop, and I ended up formatting the whole drive and reinstalling a fresh Windows 10. I managed to find almost all of the Dell drivers on the. However, in the device manager there are still a series of ACPI-something devices whose driver results as missing, as you can see from the snapshot: where on the right you can see all the unrecognized devices listed on the left, in the order in which they appear.

I didn't find any ACPI related driver on the drivers download page. Where can I find these drivers? I have the same problem after a fresh install of windows 10 PRO. I think this has to do with the Intel chipset derivers that was included in windows-7. DELL: The M3800 is a decent notebook, but has many issues, ranging fro unpredictable 1st turn ON of computer, problem turning on from Sleep, USB devices dropping out (i suspect that this has to do with a poor layout of USB differential lines, or USB current limit issues). Get ON this DELL and fix-it, or you will loose many customers when they make their next purchase!!!!!!
Why do i see many drivers? Below is a list of drivers that may be suitable for your device. With the different devices, they can have the same driver, it's because they all use the same chip manufacturer.
How to select driver? If you are looking for an update, pickup the latest one. If your driver isn't working, use the driver having the same OEM with the your laptop/desktop brand name.
